The Farmfoods European Senior Masters, which is now in its fourth year, will be held at the breath-taking Forest of Arden, A Marriott Hotel & Country Club, one of Britain’s top golf resorts and renowned as one of the European Tour’s leading venues. Its magnificent Arden Championship course offers a fierce challenge, with a beautiful backdrop of tall oak trees on the back nine, contrasting the lush, yet testing rough, before climaxing at the immaculately maintained greens.
The hotel and golf resort is used to hosting events, having held incredible and memorable tournaments, including seven English Opens and five British Masters, and can claim Colin Montgomerie, Darren Clarke and Thomas Bjorn amongst its roll of honour.
The Arden Course starts off easy enough, with two quick and undemanding par 4s, but its challenging aspect saw it voted by Midlands Golfer magazine as the ‘Best Course in the Region’ for 2017. Arguably the signature hole is the par 3 18th, a thrilling finale which requires a 200-yard carry over a lake to a green perched to the side of the hotel. The hotel itself features excellent accommodation and facilities, including the Cedarwood Spa.
Fraser Liston, Director of Golf at Forest of Arden commented: “The team here at Forest of Arden has been working incredibly hard both out on the course and in the hotel to ensure that everyone who visits enjoys the facilities to their fullest.”
