Amateur Michael Doyle and professional playing partner former Ryder Cup star Ronan Rafferty won the Alliance competition following a blustery second day’s action here at the Marriott Forest of Arden Golf and Country Club.
The pairing finished with a round of -7 to take the spoils in a fiercely contested Alliance competition following a first round of -6.
There was a tie for second place on -11 between team Sturrock (Ricky) playing with professional Clark Dennis and Team Hanlon (Tyrone) playing with former Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley with the latter taking outright second on countback on the second round.
Today will see the conclusion of the tournament with Clark Dennis leading overnight with a one shot lead over McGinley.
