PRO-AM GETS 2017 FARMFOODS EUROPEAN SENIOR MASTERS UNDER WAY

The 2017 Farmfoods European Senior Masters has arrived, with Thursday’s Pro-Am seeing stars from the European Senior Tour team up with sporting celebs and amateur golfers tackle the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country Club course.

The Pro-Am gets underway at 12noon, with Ian Woosnam OBE, Sam Torrance OBE and tournament host Peter Baker among professionals taking part. Other pros teeing it up for the event include the likes of former Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley, former British Masters winner Barry Lane, Italian Ryder Cup star Costantino Rocca, Britain’s greatest amateur Gary Wolstenholme MBE and Swiss star Andre Bossert.

The list of sporting legends doesn’t stop there. With the likes of England cricketing hero Stuart Broad MBE, recently departed Scotland boss Gordon Strachan OBE and Sky Sports F1 star Johnny Herbert all set to star.

Former Nottinghamshire and England batsman James Taylor, BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, ‘Soccer Saturday’ and former Aston Villa striker Alan McInally will be competing, as well as Team GB athletics hero Derek Redmond and ex-Wolves forward Don Goodman.

Also in attendance are current leader of the European Senior Tour Order of Merit, Clark Dennis, winner of last month’s Travis Perkins Masters, Philip Golding and 2016 Rookie of the Year Magnus P Atlevi too, as well as record European Senior Tour winner Carl Mason, Swedish Ryder Cup player Jarmo Sandelin and senior Irish star Des Smyth.
