Between 13 – 16 October 2022, golf fans are going to be treated to one of the most highly anticipated golf events of the year, but this time, it will be greater than ever before.

This year, the Farmfoods European Senior Masters will take place at one of the world’s most stunning and prestigious golf courses in the world – La Manga Club in Spain.

Consisting of four days of glorious sunshine, impressive landscapes, and immense golfing action from some of the sports most renowned names, Farmfoods European Senior Masters event is set to be the best tournament yet.

Peter Baker, Ryder Cup star and three-time winner on the European Tour, will return to host the highly anticipated tournament alongside a strong field of talent and expertise, with key names including Ian Woosnam OBE, Paul Lawrie OBE, Michael Campbell, Thomas Bjorn, Barry Lane, Peter Fowler and Spanish players Miguel Angel Martin and Jose Manuel Carriles – all of whom are expected to take to La Manga Club course to demonstrate their skills and rival the reigning champion Marcus Brier.

Particularly, the event is pleased to welcome back Gary Wolstenholme, recognised as one of the most decorated amateur players of all time. With three European Senior Tour wins under his belt and many years of experience behind him, Gary will certainly be a player to watch.

Additionally, Farmfoods will be returning as the Championship’s headline sponsor and leading brand agency Champions (UK) plc is back as the official event organiser.

La Manga Club

And, for the first time ever, La Manga Golf Club will be proudly hosting the tournament.

An award-winning resort, La Manga Club is the go-to hosting venue for LET qualifying school, and is an idyllic location, beautifully placed next to Calblanque natural park and surrounded by hills and overlooking the Mediterranean sea.

Better yet, the resort’s first director of golf was none other than South African legend Gary Player.

Consisting of three 18-hole courses; the North Course, South Course and West Course, placed along the 6 km² resort, La Manga Club is perfectly placed to deliver a competitive and exciting venue for both the professional and amateur players.

For the Senior Masters event, players will take to the South Course, battling it out for the title and showcasing their impressive skills to the spectators.

As if it couldn’t get any better, due to being located in Murcia, Spain, spectators and players alike can immerse themselves in the action while enjoying uninterrupted sunshine, elevating the experience to the next level.

This year also marks the 50th anniversary of La Manga Club, with this prestigious golfing event being the perfect way to celebrate half a century of golfing excellence within the region of Murcia.

Already renowned for being one of the most anticipated golfing events of the year, this venue will further solidify the reputation of the tournament as one of the very best events on the Legends Tour.

Champions (UK) plc CEO John Hayes expressed his delight regarding the event and said, “This marks the beginning of an exciting time for the world of golf,” John began.

“To see these golfing greats take to such an incredible course, and of course doing so in prime weather conditions, is something that will go down in the events’ history.”

Speaking on the future of the tour going forwards, John continued; “We’re excited to continue to host more international golfing events in the future following the inevitable success of the Farmfoods European Senior Masters at La Manga Club.”

Throughout the Championship there will also be plenty of opportunities to raise money for charity with the Lord’s Taverners. The institution is the UK’s leading sports disability charity.??????
