Thomas Levet is currently topping the leaderboard with a score of -9 as the final day of this year’s Farmfoods European Senior Masters plays out here at the Forest of Arden.
Despite rain delaying tee times by 30 minutes, the weather has stayed dry so far despite the forecasts threatening quite the opposite which has resulted in high spirits out on the course.
The Frenchman, who finished the second round yesterday on -6, has enjoyed a flawless final round so far, securing birdies on the second, third, eighth and ninth.
But with eight holes still to go, it’s all to play for as the hopes of the trophy and the €50,000 prize fund is still in sight for many.
Sitting on Levet’s tail just two points behind is Jarmo Sandelin who despite two bogeys – on the first and eighth – has pulled it back with a score of -8 and a total of five birdies so far. Rallying in third is a remarkable quadruple comprising Markus Brier, Paul Lawrie, Ian Woosnam OBE and Paul Broadhurst who are all on -7.
Many spectators have been commenting both here at the Forest and on social media, how tightly contested the day has been so far. You can view the live leader board by clicking here
