More than a dozen former Ryder Cup stars are preparing for their next challenge as they get ready to tee off at the Farmfoods European Senior Masters.
Unfolding at the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country Club between 3-6 October the Staysure Tour event will see a wide range of Ryder Cup legends bid for the championship title and €50,000 first prize.
Among them are Ian Woosnam OBE, Paul Lawrie OBE and Phillip Price who have all been part of significant Ryder Cup moments over the years.
Ian Woosnam OBE captained Europe to Ryder Cup victory in 2006. Prior to that he was part of Europe’s resurgence in the competition during the 1980s playing a crucial role as the team defeated USA in 1985 – the first time they’d managed to do so in 28 years.
1999 Open winner Paul Lawrie OBE was vice-captain for team Europe in 2016 but is best known for his involvement in 2012 as part of the ‘Miracle at Medinah’ team. In what has become known as one of the greatest comebacks in Ryder Cup history, Paul played a vital role in the win.
